Today sees the first
classic of the season with the 2000 Guineas and spread betting bookies

The main focus of the race will be on hot favourite Dubawi. This
horse comes over from Dubai, where great things are expected of him by Sheik
Mohammed and his Godolphin team. Although his 2yo form is impressive, and he
confirmed his wellbeing with an easy victory in a trial race at Nad Al
Sheba, there are some reasons for opposing him first time out. The stables
runners sometimes struggle at this early stage of the season, as the horses
fail to adapt to the change of climate when arriving at Newmarket. I think
that this horse is over-hyped, and the suggested price of 11/10 seems way
too short for me, so I will be opposing this good thing on the day.
Looking at the rest of the field, I’d keep the right side of Rob Roy
and Oratorio. Rob Roy was unlucky in running in the Craven, and is
sure to progress from that. Ignore anyone who tells you that any other horse
from the Craven can beat him on Saturday (Democratic Deficit, Iceman,
Mister Genepi and Kandidate). He will certainly beat all these
and has a clear chance of victory. Oratorio has an excellent each way chance
at a big price; his form is very impressive, and I predict he can beat his
more fancied stable mate Footstepsinthesand.
