Champions League semi-final second-leg previews with Sporting Index
After the
goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, we should be in store for a classic at
Anfield. With the guarantee of at least one goal on Tuesday evening and an
English team in the final, it’s the most eagerly anticipated game of the
season. With a free £200 per goal football bet available to all new clients,
the spread betting service from London bookies
Sporting Index certainly
offers an attractive addition to your fixed odds punting.
To claim your free bet, all you have to do is open an account and place ten
bets (risking £20 per bet) to claim the free football bet, or alternatively
£100 cash straight into your account.
Liverpool v
Chelsea (Tuesday 3rd May, 19:45 ITV1)
Liverpool’s failure to score at Stamford Bridge means that Chelsea are
still favourites to reach the final. The Blues’ away record in all
competitions this season has been very impressive and there will be less
pressure on them as the away team in the second leg. Even though the Anfield
crowd will be expecting Liverpool to go on the attack from the first
whistle, Benitez will be keen to stifle Chelsea’s counter attacking threat
in the early stages.
The suspension of Alonso is a major blow for the Reds, and that will place
even more responsibility on the shoulders of Gerrard. The key man in this
game could well be Robben; it’s still not clear how fit he is going to be,
but if he plays from the start it’s hard to see Liverpool stopping Chelsea
from scoring that crucial away goal. It’s going to be close, and may even go
the full distance, but if I was having a punt my money would be on a low
scoring Chelsea victory.
PSV v AC Milan (Wednesday 4th May, 19:45 Sky Sports 1)
The Italians didn’t play well in the first leg and were fortunate to get
the two goal cushion. Realistically, PSV’s failure to score an away goal
means that this tie is pretty much settled; Milan’s defensive record away
from home in this year’s Champions League is second to none. With PSV’s
first choice right-back Ooijer suspended, and centre-back Bouma injured,
they will struggle to keep Crespo and Shevchenko at bay. The return of Nesta
should also strengthen Milan’s defensive capabilities, making PSV’s task all
the more difficult. I would be very surprised if we didn’t see AC Milan
playing in Istanbul on 25th May.
