Los Angeles FC vs Seattle Sounders Odds, Betting Preview & Tips: Hail Bale

Gareth BaleThere’s a lot of excitement around this Los Angeles FC team at the moment. The franchise is top of the Western Conference and sailing into the playoffs while the arrival of Gareth Bale has given everyone a boost.

Bale scored his first goal for his new club last weekend and LAFC have a great deal of momentum going into Saturday’s MLS fixture (4am BST). Waiting to take them on are a Seattle Sounders team who have struggled in 2022. Last season, the club won the Supporters Shield as the best performing team of the regular campaign.

This time around, the Sounders are in mid-table and need to put a string of results together if they are to progress to the next phase.

Los Angeles are heavy favourites for this Friday night / Saturday morning game and the best industry odds on the home win currently stand at 7/12. The draw is available at a top price of 7/2 while victory for Seattle is on offer at a best of 5/1.

Los Angeles head the standings in the west while the Sounders are down in ninth place. Sixteen points separate the two teams so there are no surprises in that result market.

Does the form guide suggest anything other than comfortable 90 minutes for LAFC? It’s certainly looking good with Los Angeles winning four and losing just one of their last five games. The only blip in that run was a 1-0 defeat away to Vancouver Whitecaps.

In the same period of time, Seattle have won two and lost three. We know that the Sounders are underperforming this season but that’s not a good indicator. We’ll come back to the result at the end but let’s firstly check on the side bets.

There will be some interest in Gareth Bale across the individual goal scorer markets. The Welsh international found the net in LA’s 2-0 win over Sporting Kansas City last time out and he’s now quoted at best odds of 11/2 to open the scoring in the early hours of Saturday.

The favourite in this market is LA’s Colombian striker Cristian Arango who has nine goals this season and is available at a top price of 9/2. Seattle players are not expected to have too much of an impact. The club’s leading scorer is Jordan Morris with six strikes and he is down at a best of 11/1 for the first goal.

Away from the player markets, Both Teams to Score is available for Saturday’s game at 3/4 with a number of bookmakers. If you prefer the ‘no’ option on BTTS, this rises to best odds of 6/5.

Crossing over to the Total Goals betting, this preview will start with Over 2.5 which is on offer at a general 4/6. By pushing that up one notch, we can take Over 3.5 Goals which is quoted at a top price of 7/4. Alternatively, if you feel that this game will be a low scorer, you can stake Under the 2.5 goal line for a top price of 19/20.

The bookies are suggesting an emphatic win for LAFC and, if you agree, you can back a 3-0 home win in the Correct Score market at best odds of 11/1. If Seattle Sounders can come away with the points, a 2-1 victory for the visitors will look tempting at 18/1 while most outlets are quoting 7/1 on the 1-1 draw.

Our Preview’s LAFC vs Seattle Sounders Betting Tips Verdict

All Seattle Sounders fans are waiting for the club to respond after a slow start to the regular season. The Sounders won the Supporters Shield last term as the best performing franchise in the regular season and many of that side remain on the roster. We shouldn’t rule them out but the form guide, together with home advantage points to a win for Los Angeles FC.

By all means take the match result bet but there should be some better options among the side bets. Seattle have failed to score in three of their last five games. They’ve only found the net on four occasions in that time so we’ll start with betting ‘no’ on Both Teams to Score.

Gareth Bale will certainly be a player to watch in the coming weeks. He is off the mark for his new club and should thrive in front of goal against weaker defences. Fitness concerns mean that he won’t always be a guaranteed starter but the Welsh winger looks to offer decent value at 13/8 for a goal at any time.

It should be comfortable for Los Angeles but there are some good options in the side betting and these two betting tips will hopefully add up to a profitable 90 minutes for this preview:

  • Both Teams to score: Bet ‘No’ @ best odds of 5/4 with BetVictor.
  • Gareth Bale to score at any time @ 13/8 with BetVictor.
